1. That's a song everybody needs to sing - ironic how it's usually taught in Sunday School...
...where the agenda is often to blow out whatever little light threatens the power structure.

Even as a kid, the irony wasn't lost on me.

3. I learned the song in Sunday school (Southern baptist, took me awhile to forgive my parents on that)...
I now belong to a congregation where I can sing out loud and proud!

4. I'm glad you found a great congregation! The best ones I've been a part of...
...over the years have been Unitarian Universalist - open minds and open hearts.

2. Recommended.
:kick:

P.S. Did you and I go to vacation Bible school together? "This Little Light of Mine," warm grape Kool-Aid, stale Oreo cookies, and doing macramé are about all I recall of VBS -- and that's probably a good thing. ;)

7. Wait a minute--
You got brand name Oreos™ and Kool-Aid™? We got the generic crap. And the same old "Jesus loves you unconditionally—as long as you do EXACTLY what he says."

9. It was an upper middle class Southern Baptist Church.
Blame my parents for having the tithing power that bought us impressionable waifs :name brand: gross VBS snacks. :puke:

10. Don't you just love that?
I went to catholic school, and I was never able to get the whole "God loves you a million times more than your parents do, but if you displease him you will burn in hell for eternity" thing.
