Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' Album Banned In Lebanon
Lady Gaga's religious firestorm may have blown over in the United States, but the government of Lebanon found it so enflaming that they've banned the popstar's new album from the country's stores.

Multiple reports say that the Lebanese government impounded shipments of "Born This Way," the already-platinum album due to its alleged insults to Christianity and its all around "bad taste."

The Lebanese government has made clear their distaste in Gaga, having already banned her single "Judas" from the airwaves. That song caused a brief ruckus in the United States, too, as conservative religious leaders, including those from the Catholic League, initially protested the song's lyrics and pending video.

"This is a stunt... Lady Gaga tries to continue to shock Catholics and Christians in general: she dresses as a nun... she swallows the rosary. She has now morphed into a caricature of herself," Catholic League President Bill Donohue said in a statement before the video came out.

2. Oh, there's some irony...

Lebannon produces most of the...interesting female pop singers for the whole Middle East, including some about as out-there as L.G. To the point that "Lebanese pop tart" is practically a household phrase, and it doesn't refer to breakfast. (When I Googled the phrase, the very first hit was a blog about Lebanese female pop singers.)

I lived in Egypt for 4 years, and the (Islamic) Fundamentalists were always raging about those women. Especially May Hariri, who appeared in a video comparing her butt-shaking skills with some Suspiciously Gay-Looking Men. Hariri was raised in a Shi'ite family but apparently recovered - she's divorced.

Here's one of my favorites, from the singer known as Dana. Versatile enough to appear in a single video wearing a pink ballet tutu AND a black Spandex cat suit. This woman REALLY drives the Fundies crazy:

3. Wish I could hear the new music
Again for the 109th time LOL I started losing my hearing slowly in my mid-twenties. So I live in the past - musically.

4. Well, it's not really THAT impressive, to be honest.
Today it's almost like these pop songs don't stand on their own; instead, they need the flashy videos to make a total experience. Or something.

Think a much more electronic version of Madonna, with almost over-saturated bass beats, and there you go.

Additionally, even with her good voice, Gaga insists on using a lot of autotune to keep her voice on pitch. I personally cannot STAND that.
