Bishop Harry Jackson releases statement voicing his outrage over Prop 8 being overturned
Edited on Wed Aug-04-10 01:57 PM by FreeState
Apparently he can see and read the future ruling thats expected later today!

Prop 8 Decision Threatens Core Civil Right to Vote for Marriage -This is a travesty of justice. The majority of Californians - and two-thirds of black voters in California - have just had their core civil right to vote for marriage stripped from them by an openly gay federal judge who has misread history and the Constitution to impose his San Francisco views on the American people.

The implicit comparison Judge Walker made between racism and marriage is particularly offensive to me and to all of us who remember the reality of Jim Crow.

It is not bigotry it is biology that discriminates between same-sex couples and opposite-sex couples. To make a marriage requires a husband and a wife because these unions are necessary to make new life and connect children to their mother and father.

Judge Walker’s slur will not stand the test of time and history. We demand that Congress and the Supreme Court act to protect all Americans’ right to vote for marriage.

Makes you wonder is he has seen the ruling already. Its possible - Walker is known to give a draft ruling to the lawyers the day before its issued....

As a courtesy on really big opinions, so as to give counsel a chance to prepare appropriately for media response and/or immediate motions that need to be filed, courts occasionally give lead counsel on each side their draft opinion slightly ahead of public filing and release, but do so with a strict gag order so no one ever knows this happens This is something that Vaughn Walker has, from experience, a track record for doing, and I think it likely, actually almost certain, that he did just that here. Which makes the fact that the H8ter Defendant Intervenors (DIs), who propagated the hateful Proposition 8, and who oppose gay marriage, have already lodged a Motion For Stay Pending Appeal very, very telling.

3. Oh I hope so... because the ruling is going to be spectacular based on his and the Pro8 motion
Oh I hope so... because the ruling is going to be spectacular based on his and the Pro8 motion to stay... It as if they are attacking the ruling in it... like they know the basis that was used:)

Here is their motion for a stay... it addresses strict scrutiny, rational basis and tradition:

That some how denying them to vote on minority rights is a violation of their civil rights... its laughable.

6. Oh gag. "comparison ... made between racism and marriage is particularly offensive ..."
Sick of blacks who think they own the exclusive rights to a history of suffering and discrimination. Yeah, how dare anyone compare the black struggle for equality with that of those sinful, disgusting gays!

8. What a lovely christian man!
So, is it OK for him to point out that 2/3 of black people voted for Prop hate? Someone ought to call him out over that. Espcially the people who didn't vote for it. I think he thinks he speaks for the black community.

I didn't know the judge was gay - is that fact or the fiction of his little mind?

All sarcasm aside, this man makes me FUCKING WANT TO HURL -- equating civil rights struggles is a slur, huh? FUCK YOU YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT.

Oh no, gay people haven't been fucking murdered throughout history all over the fucking world just for existing and not in just the shitholes of the world but by asshole men of god just like this piece of trash right here in the good ole US of fucking A - and if Shitstains like this guy had his way, it would be open season on us, STILL. Just because there are fewer of us than there are african americans does not negate our struggles. Just because we are discriminated against one by one, personally and in our faces and not en masse... just because we are murdered without much notice - that does not give this shitstain of a human being the right to call our struggles a slur on him and his followers.

FUCK YOU YOU DISGUSTING PIECE OF SHIT PIG OF A MAN.
