My new cynical theory
Since we're starting to hear the usual "chatter" about DADT that tells us we should be on guard against a study and military chiefs sabotaging DADT repeal to the point of even more delay, I've been thinking.

ENDA was supposedly going to be that one great easy and early accomplishment of these past two years (DADT was, too, but shhhh, we're not supposed to remember that).

So, here's my latest cynical thinking.

The DADT study comes down, there will be all kinds of "hitches" and "concerns" that lead to yet more delay. The community goes batshit. And then . . .

POOF!

ENDA for everyone!

This administration has a way of measuring out movement forward based on political necessity. So maybe if we get really, really, really angry, we can have ENDA. Like they promised.

3. Cynical is worthy
Just keep in mind that being cynical saves valuable time. Since this is about military matters, the oracle of cyniciam reminds us:

Military justice is to justice what military music is to music.

4. Except We Don't Get Significant Progress When We Go "Batshit"
We get crumbs like minor benefits granted to same-sex federal employees.

If DADT gets repealed (and I believe it eventually will), it will be because CONGRESS finally stepped up and did something, DESPITE the Obama administration, which has been nothing but an obstacle to gay equality on a scale that George Bush could have only dreamed about in his wildest masturbatory fantasies.
