Never put people up on pedestals. Sooner or later you have to bring them down again. Elevate principles and ideals, and people only to the extent that they act in accordance with them.

if I save that as a quote for later use. Sports stars, pop stars, even the Beatles, even Dylan...I just have no need to turn these people into demigods. I know sometimes people think it's mean-spirited, closed-minded or whatever, but to me it's just sanity. I can admire someone without necessarily building shrines to them. Thanks!

3. I don't have a shrine to Keith Olbermann either, despite my admiration of him
so you don't have to act all smug and superior. I don't turn anyone into a demigod or expect them to be perfect.

I still expect that at one point he will apologize.
