1. Abbott wants to run for governor or senator.

He showed promise as a state district judge twenty years ago, but evolved into a typical GOP statewide office holder. The GOP has its gauntlet of crazies in power in the Texas GOP, and anyone who wants to hold statewide office as a Republican must get past them.

He's kissing ass to the fundie right, if I haven't been clear enough.

3. The good news is the Texas GOP has its hands full of tea baggers.
The monster is now threatening its creator. The tea baggers are running campaigns in GOP primaries against GOP incumbents!

It's the feel-good story of 2010!
