So many trans folk go without proper medical supervision and counseling and put themselves at risk for the numerous complications.

No gatekeeper plan but a "informed consent" with optional counseling services.

I don't hold out but when it comes time for the gov. to pick up the costs for healthcare they need to follow some diagnostic and treatment plan. AMA guidelines include treatment of transition.

Canada and UK both provide transition care for trans people.

Right now my employer sponsored plan specifically excludes care and treatment.

I'm sure eventually it will happen, but it would be nice if it was sooner than later. I'm having to dip into my IRA for surgery. It's not like this isn't genuine, and it sure as heck is not the experimental days anymore.

But given the trouble with just the Public Option and SRS being a Political Hot Button for Conservatives. I wouldn't count on it happening in this round.
