Harvey Milk Day Boycott by savecalifornia.com
http://savecalifornia.com/ca-release-10-15-09-parents-keep-your-children-home-on-harvey-milk-day.html

Sacramento – SaveCalifornia.com, the West Coast pro-family, pro-child organization that led the statewide battle against “Harvey Milk Day,” which Governor Schwarzenegger signed on Oct. 12, is calling on every California parent with children in K-12 government schools to keep their sons and daughters home on this day of in-your-face, homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination.

“Fathers and mothers are angry about Harvey Milk Day pushing this extreme, perverse role model upon their kids,” said SaveCalifornia.com President Randy Thomasson. “Children belong to parents, not to the state! Since SB 572 has no opt-out, boycotting Harvey Milk Day and pulling their children out of the imploding government school system is the only way for parents to protect their girls and boys.”

The boycott will also send a strong message to school districts that they should not use classroom time to celebrate Harvey Milk Day or risk losing average daily attendance funds.

The blatant sexual indoctrination of Harvey Milk Day is a clear and present danger for parents. Even school districts in conservative areas are allowing teachers to promote the notorious Harvey Milk:

“If it happens to be in a literature class or a social studies class, it can be included as long as it’s related to the topic,” Willett said about teachers including Harvey Milk Day in the curriculum. The bill calls for the day to be observed by public schools as a day of special significance. Teachers will be encouraged to conduct exercises recalling Milk’s life and contributions to the state. Willett imagines teachers could include Milk in a discussion of civil rights. Source: Santa Clarita Signal, Oct. 14

1. I predict that fewer than 5% of students will be kept out of school
that day. Probably less than 1%. It's yet another stupid boycott by a tiny minority. No effect.

Wingers of all types have no numbers when they try to actually do something other than influence voters. There will be no effective boycott.

4. All these Repuke opt-outs lately
They want to opt-out of the President's video message to the schools. They want to opt-out of recognizing Harvey Milk, just as so many of these same idiots wanted opt-out of a MLK holiday a generation ago. The Repuke DLC proxy Tom Carper wants to allow them to opt-out of the public option.

How come we weren't allowed to opt-out of the "Patriot" Act or Chimpy's wars? :grr:

5. "pro-family, pro-child"????? How do they get away with this?
They aren't pro family - to discriminate against one group of people does NOT make them pro-family

Pro- family means they are doing everything they can to promote and help families.

Pro- Child means they are doing everything they can to help children

Telling kids "Gays are evil!!" is not either of those

Why do groups get away with this shit????

6. They have their adherents.
And we let them get away with it. I can't think of any other reason they're still around.
