Great article up on the
The Politicizer right now from a gay college student explaining why he's marching this weekend in the Equality March.
Excerpt:"This issue is of particular importance for our generation. This is our civil rights movement – we see the issue of LGBT equality as a part of a much larger struggle for social justice. However, there is no singular leader for this movement. We have no Martin Luther King, no Rosa Parks, and no Susan B. Anthony. All of us are the leaders, and each of us has a responsibility to stand up and fight for justice and equality for ourselves, for our friends, and for millions of strangers."
Anyway - a bunch of Christian fundamentalists found the article, and there's currently a battle going on on the site between Christian literalists vs. gay rights advocates. Personally I'm a Christian and offended at how fundamentalists distort God's love to say it doesn't include gay people...but anyway. Surely some DUers can jump in the fray and tilt the debate more in favor of gay rights.
