I don't post here often, apparently I am not sensitive enough. And that's fine, it is your forum.
I just wanted to offer support and remind you folks that you are not alone, and that you have to keep up the fight.
The sad truth is that quiet people get ignored, and loud people get attention. And you folks don't have that many numbers compared to the rest of the population. So you will have to fight twice as hard as anybody else. You will have to work to make yourselves heard. I'm sure I am preaching to the choir.
You should have the same rights as anybody else.And I vote accordingly.

6. I don't even pay attention to the Rec column anymore, it has become meaningless

and like groups of other posters, now I am automatically un-recommending threads from more conservative posters without even bothering to read what they have posted. One in particular, that supports the coup in Honduras, self-deleted his own OP which had no responses as of yet. I unrecommended it anyway!

DU did this stupid thing several years ago, and it turned out to be a big joke just as it is now. I am sorry DU decided to repeat the same mistake it made years ago.

7. No offense, but you're one of the ones abusing the unrec system.

I think that we need the ability to unrec threads as a check on what gets onto the greatest page. This insures fewer self-rightous temper tantrums, flamebait threads, and duplicates littering the greatest page. What isn't appropriate is using it to carry out vendettas, or randomly deciding that somebody's opinions are worth less than yours without looking at the merit of the thread.
