I watched North Carolina's House pass the second reading of the School Violence Prevention Act

I was so proud of my state rep, Darren Jackson, he told why he sponsered the bill. His son, 10 years old, is small, smart, into drama and dance, and not into sports. He could have been describing me. His pride, love, and fear for his son were so clear and eloquently expressed. I am so proud of him for both his love of his son and his standing with the kids of North Carolina.

Later my letter to the News and Observer was read by another legislator in favor of the bill. We won 59 to 57 with the last reading tomorrow. I feel good tonight as should all citizens of North Carolina.
