Lewis & Clark Landing on Omaha's riverfront was adorned with rainbow flags Saturday as more than 1,000 people gathered to celebrate gay pride.

The festival with food and music followed a parade in which hundreds marched along 10th Street downtown to Heartland of America Park.

Bryan Moredick, 29, emphatically described the celebration's turnout as "awesome."

Chuck Vrana, 51, said the day's activities symbolized freedom and pride.

"I'm proud of who I am despite what anyone else says," Vrana said. "God made me who I am."

2. I like Omaha's riverfront.
It's nice.

I wonder if the Diamond bar is still there. One of the first places I ever went.

3. It is still there

Last I knew anyway.

The riverfront has a jazz festival next month. Marta and I are going to see Al Jarreau.

4. My Dwaine adores Al Jarreau
Lucky you.

I always liked Omaha. I lived in Lincoln for quite a while, back in my Fundie days.
