Salt Lake Area Rejects Gay Benefits
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/07/071205slBens.htm

Salt Lake County Council voted Tuesday to reject a proposal to extend full benefits to domestic partners of county employees.

The five Republicans on council voted against the measure, the four democrats voted for it.

Had the measure passed it would have made the county the first government in Utah to offer benefits to the partners of gay and lesbian civic workers.

guess the strategy of the Log Cabinites has really paid off

good job guys

1. Repuke hypocrites. They believe in marriage, but prefer that gays
"live in sin" and are never allowed the right to make their union legal.

5. Similar to Big Brother 6: a hetero couple has to closet themselves
and the host, Julie Chen, goes, "how does acting like they aren't together stress the relationship?" and it comes out from BOTH the guy and girl that the closeting of the relationship is harming the relationship, and she has all these doubts and he is like, whoa, this whole experience makes me have second thoughts.

And I saw that, and I was like, "uh=huh! Exactly. Now you heteros know why gay men sometimes have such difficulty remaining together as a couple."

You reap what you sow - punish gays and lesbians and their relationships, and you'll get a lot of McGreevey's and gay men who sleep around. Applaud and reward their relationships as you do hetero ones and gays will respond in kind.

Effing homophobes.

2. But I guess you already knew that.
FWIW, the only community in Utah that could be considered gay friendly is Salt Lake City proper. The closer to UofU the better. I could see SLC's mayor pushing for something like this, but even then, getting a majority of the council behind it would be questionable.

4. How On EARTH Did SLC Convince The IOC That They Were A "World Class" City?
From my perspective, they appear to be pretty regressive and backward and bigoted.
