Some great poetry from Brin
* Be now at peace *
* It is That is... *
* And engineers *
* Far from the ocean *
* Can hear it still *

The best parts of the Uplift books have been Brin's writing in trinary and primal.

Another great one:

# Duty, duty -- honor is, is --
Honor, Creideiki -- alertly
# Shared, is -- Honor #

1. I am not tasting it .
But this is weird synchronicity .

I am an Engineer , my screen name in undertheOCEAN , and I posted a poetry thread in the lounge today .

and then you post this.

I will look up Brin , but if that is his best , I don't know .

2. Poetry is how the dolphins communicate
English is hard for them. Primal is their native language and trinary allows a bridge.

If it makes you feel any better, Brin is one of the foremost progressive science fiction writers extant.

4. Uplifted dolphins
Dolphins that were genetically altered by humans to full sophont status--fully aware and able to travel among the stars.

5. Did a gay dolphin write that?
Edited on Mon May-04-09 03:07 PM by YOY
Otherwise I wouldn't really post it in GLBT.

Unless he/she was a straight dolphin but sticking up for gays like a good dolphin should.

6. I don't leave the GLBT forum any more
I wanted to talk about the poetry, so this is the only place to discuss it.
