If the dyke quits , do the cowboys win?
Last month I though my new job was the best job I've ever hed.
Man, I loved it.
Now I've got some doubts.
I still love the work.
Got a little trouble with the immediate co-workers.

I work with pro-life church-going-hymn-signing girly-gals,but hey, We can get along. Really.
Heres my problem:
The Bigoted conservatives and flat-out racist homophobic fuck-head cowboys make this out-dyke mad enough to cry at work! (the shame!).

I'm wondering if I'm mad enough to quit my job.

If the dyke quits, do the cowboys win?

1. No. You win.
You won't have to put up with their crap and they lose a good employee. Their loss, not yours. Fuck 'em.

2. What the hell are you still doing in Idaho.
Get a live-in job at a horse farm in VA. You'd be a short drive to lots of fun stuff in DC.

At first, I thought you were Condi lamenting her new job at State. You know she lurks here. So does Karen Hughes. They'd like you.

;-) :bounce:

3. One question
Edited on Fri May-27-05 09:22 PM by annerevere
Deep in your gut, is the job worth the problems you're putting up with? Do you like it that much? Could you find another one that workwise, is good enough?

If you love the work and there's none other available like it, hang in there. Loving the work that you do, well, that's too rare nowadays, unfortunately.

Otherwise? Quit. And don't think a second about it. You have nothing to prove to no one.

My younger brother is gay. Geez, the stuff he puts up with. Why can't people just let other people alone?

4. My opinion (from a straight man)
Is that they win if you stay and let them have an impact on your life. I worked for 11 months in an engineering department filled with civil engineers from Texas A&M and I'm as far left as they come. Their bigotry (and not JUST against Gays) was putrefying and I realized that every month my attitude got a little worse, and I felt like kicking the dog at home a little more. These people are poisonous and contagious. Flee!
