Some way for "straight" people to celebrate the GLBT heroes/people in our lives.

One source of frustration for me--and I imagine this is possibly true for others here--is that the GLBT community has made a huge, positive impact and influence for many of us, and some of us are not sure what the best ways are to express our gratitude. I check this forum every time I come back to DU, and I see the open wounds, and I yearn that there is some way to heal this or make things better. But the truth is I don't know how.

Even though I try to put myself in your shoes, I know this is just my imagination and not the "truth" of what it feels like to face what this community is facing right now.

Just know that although some of us are not in your shoes, we do care a lot and are doing what little we can. I know it's not enough.
