Montana University System Gay Benefits Exclude Many Same-Sex Couples
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/05/050905montana.htm

Despite a court ruling that the Montana University System must provide benefits to the partners of gay and lesbian workers many same-sex couples remain without the insurance plans because of restrictions set in place by the plan.

Last December the Montana Supreme Court ruled that the state must provide lesbian and gay employees of the University System with the option of purchasing health insurance and other employee benefits for their domestic partners. (story)

The ruling was the result of an ACLU lawsuit begun in February 2002 on behalf of two lesbian couples and PRIDE, Inc., a Montana based lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender advocacy organization whose members include employees and domestic partners of employees of the University of Montana System.
