I, along with all of you, am very upset at some of the comments that have been posted here lately regarding Rick Warren. Your presence here, each and every one of you, is necessary and treasured.

Please don't break DU rules that could lead to your earning a granite cookie. In other words, don't link to offending threads in here. I think all of us are on the lookout for offensiveness anyway, and linking can only get the link-er in trouble.

I know some of the mods in this forum from when I was a mod, and they're good people. They're not homophobic. I would wager that they are equally disturbed about the selection of Rick Warren as I am.

This isn't a 'get over it' post, either for those who don't know me. I just don't want to lose any of you over this. I think we can all agree that we are all going to be needed going forward to push through equality for our friends.

1. Two tools to use

One is the Alert button. The other is the private email. When someone says something on a thread that really upsets you, alert on them. Then PM a friend and vent. That way, your friend knows about it and can alert too and you can feel better knowing you are talking with someone sympathetic to your cause.

I think I might have had a post deleted a coupla years ago in the lounge , in which I described swallowing a dental crown, and exactly what I had to do to get that crown back again.
