Is There An Amendment That Gives the Federal Government the Power to Punish Individuals...
Is there an amendment that gives the federal government the power to punish individuals or organizations for possessing or selling marijuana?

Because that power is not authorized in the constitution. I'm just curious where they get it from?

1. This is so fucking stupid.
"Section 1. All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives. "

Like the first fucking words of the Constitution. Gawd we're a stupid fucking country.

14. The context of that statement is pretty simple...
In other words, only Congress could make laws and carry out those duties granted to it by the Constitution.

3. I'm sure you will get stupid posts that ignore the 10th "The powers not delegated to the United
States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

8. I don't smoke...
maybe you should reread the 10th amendment.

Why are people so eager to have their liberty taken away?

10. You shouldn't have admitted that.
"High" is much more acceptable than "droolingly stupid." High people can come down.

11. again,
the federal government is limited to the powers authorized by the constitution. The 10th amendment states this.

So, I'll ask again, where does the federal gov. get this power?

12. The answer has been posted in this thread already.
Which leaves three options: You're a dumbfuck stoner who's too permabaked to parse language, you're just a dumbfuck, or you're a libertarian troll.

13. no reason for name calling
I feel like I'm arguing with a child.
There is no such law or answer because they don't have the power.

7. Are you really trying to suggest that the government doesn't have authority to enforce law?

9. re:
I'm saying the federal government can only do what the constitution authorizes them and nothing more.

That is why when they prohibited the sale of alcohol they had to amend the constitution, because this power was not authorized to the federal government.
