"Late abortion: the new clash in the Choice Wars"
Interesting article I was sent by another pro-choice friend. What do you think about it?

2. It was a clinic in name only.
It was more of a butcher shop.

5. I agreed with Saletan`s article...
and disagreed with hers. A 36 week old foetus is a baby. To insist that a baby magically acquires human sentience as it emerges from the birth canal is as much a silly fiction as the opposing contention by Christians that life begins at conception. Hence her argument that terminating a foetus at 38 weeks is as morally unambiguous as taking a morning after pill is absurd. I imagine for most people it simply wouldnt pass the giggle test.

Personally, I would allow women to access late abortions in the event that their child was suffering from a severe disability, as seemed to be the case in most of the instances described in the article. But I would not pretend that this is anything less than a grave solution for a grave situation.

Additionally, I think that the foetus, wherever possible, should be anaesthetized prior to any such procedure. After all, a 38-week old child feels the same degree of pain whether it is outside the womb or not.
