OK House overrides abortion restrictions vetoes
Overly restrictive and morally assinine.

So a woman can get tested for fetal abnormalities, and it is ok for the doctor to lie about the results? That is practicing medicine without a license (congress idiots who ok this) and morally wrong.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/26/AR2010042603655.html
The Oklahoma House voted overwhelmingly Monday to override vetoes of two restrictive abortion measures Gov. Brad Henry has called unconstitutional intrusions into citizens' private lives and decisions.

The Senate was expected to follow suit Tuesday, after which the bills would become law.

One of the measures requires women to undergo an ultrasound and listen to a detailed description of the fetus before getting an abortion. The other prohibits pregnant women from seeking damages if physicians withhold information or provide inaccurate information about their pregnancy.

Supporters said the second measure was aimed at preventing women from discriminating against fetuses with disabilities. The votes were 81-14 and 84-12....

advocating an increase in funds for birth control, family planning, REAL sex ed taught in schools, etc. would pass but crap like this does.

3. LOL. Thank you for the welcome.
I think the moral cretins who think of bills like this hate women and generally have nothing more productive to do with their time.

I hope these bast*rds are voted out next election cycle and this bill is repealed.

It's bad enough that women are being forced/coerced into into having babies they don't want, but now it is in the name of giving abnormal/disabled/sick and/or dying fetuses a chance to develop into their fully disabled potential? :wtf:

'the second measure was aimed at preventing women from discriminating against fetuses with disabilities'

Am I reading this right?

These are very sick people.

Edit: I just noticed my post starts almost exactly like MountainLaurel's, which wasn't intentional. This really DOES make a sane person want to cry - just thinking about the babies AFTER they've been forced into this world with horrible disabilities. And the mothers and other family members who too will suffer. But then, I'm sure these babies will be highly adoptable. Every repub in town is looking for a severely disabled child to raise, or to watch die, or at least to donate money to.

Man, I hate these people.

6. It's tragic
Most pregnancies terminated due to severe fetal abnormalities were very much wanted pregnancies. Often the children born with these abnormalities suffer and die horribly at a young age. It makes me sick to see women who are probably grieving the loss of a wanted pregnancy be accused of "discrimination." Discrimination against whom? The child they didn't want to born only to suffer and die horribly? The child they made a difficult decision for out of LOVE and not discrimination?

:(
