Women are under attack. Because there are whispers that we have brought this on ourselves and the suggestion that we "give up our reproductive freedom," here is another post regarding the War on Women.
Right now, everyone, regardless of gender, must stand in solidarity with our Women. The nuclear option and fillabuster is over our personal and private freedoms to make personal choices that do not include the government. The rethuglians are clever enough to hide behind women judges as shields in their attacks.
I want to see the Choice and Reproductive Freedom forum buzzing with stories and activism. I want to see the varius discussion boards reminding us how we must all stand together. It's about women. It's about the GLBT community. It's about democracy.

REFUSED AT THE COUNTER
When Angela was 22, desperate to find emergency contraception pills because the condom broke, she and her boyfriend drove around town in search of the drugs that could help prevent an unintended pregnancy. After two pharmacies and two hospitals refused to fill a prescription, she gave up. "I'll never forget how uncaring and nonchalant the pharmacists at those stores were," she wrote to PPFA. "
like my country hated me, and viewed me like a baby-machine."
From all over the country they wrote us — women like Angela who had been denied valid legal prescriptions for birth control or emergency contraception pills (ECPs) because a pharmacist had refused to fill them. ECPs can reduce the risk of pregnancy when started within 120 hours after unprotected vaginal intercourse. They are not an abortifiacient and do not interfere with an existing pregnancy.
