Coyotes Bankruptcy Judge Punts...
Edited on Tue Jun-16-09 08:08 AM by SidDithers
rather than making a decision about the relocation, Judge Redfield T Baum issued a ruling saying that there's not enough time to properly consider relocation before the June 29 deadline attached to the ONLY bid for the team.

Not sure if this spells the end for Ballsilie's bid to move the 'Yotes to Hamilton, but it's not happening this year. The Coyotes will be playing in Phoenix next year, under the operation of the NHL, and the will be auctioned later in the year - probably September.

Now, it will be interesting to see if any of the NHL's 4 "phantom" interested parties step up to buy the team, and if the creditors get more than the $212.5 million that Ballsilie was willing to pay.

Good analysis from Stephen Brunt here: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/with-nhl-its-always-bad-news-for-hamilton/article1183233/
