Dodgers* lose again
5-3 to the Phillies. Breaking down their record it looks like this:

With Manny..21-8

W/O Manny..1-4

Coincidence? Or are the Dodgers* swiftly returning to the mediocre team they were before Ramirez's arrival?

1. It's a combination. They're no longer cleaning up on
below .500 teams.

2. Hey, I actually agree with you!
They had a pretty easy start to it with so many bad teams and so many home games...also, I think their team psyche is shot...it wasn't Manny who was winning games, but they are realizing they've been had by that clown.

7. Couple of questions
Has Bonds been suspended by MLB? Has Barry admitted to KNOWINGLY taking PEDS? Has Bonds been convicted by a jury of lying when he said he never KNOWINGLY took steroids?

The answer to all these questions is a big fat NO....

Suspicion, speculation, rumor..none of those are sufficient grounds to affix an asterisk to any team or individual.

8. Was there testing when Bonds played?
Uh no! Do I think Bonds would have been caught like Manny if testing had been in place? Fuck yeah. In fact he did get caught. What stupid fucking argument about Bonds*that is. I think we should all refer to him as Bonds* from now on

Edited on Wed May-13-09 11:05 AM by Upton
When you can answer yes to any one of the 3 questions I presented, then you'll have a case. In fact, just for emphasis lets go over those again:

Has Bonds been suspended by MLB? Has Barry admitted to KNOWINGLY taking PEDS? Has Bonds been convicted by a jury of lying when he said he never KNOWINGLY took steroids?

Hey, nice 2 out 3 run HR in the 9th by Sandoval last night, huh?

Edited on Wed May-13-09 01:04 PM by trumad
This is your quote pal....

"I've answered that question in the past

I think the numbers speak for themselves...you don't generally suddenly hit 73 HRS after never hitting more than 50 your entire career without a little help.

Now I have a question for you...do you believe Bonds has been the victim of a double standard"?
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=215&topic_id=85330&mesg_id=85402

See now that is what gets me with you Bond's apologist--- you know God Damn well he took roids----but you minimize it by parsing your quotes with shit like ---"without a little help".

That little help obviously helped him hit 23 more homers to break the record. What if Hank had that er little help? Would he have hit 80?

We'll never know because he didn't have that "little help".

13. Why do you continue to pound this subject when you, yourself have said
that you beleive that there is no way that BB could have hit 23 more hr's in a season than he had ever before, without a little help.

WTF do you think that "little help" was? I think A-roid was in the AL at the time, so he could not have been tipping bonds off.

you're misquoting me..I never said there is "no way" that Barry could have hit 23 more HR's in a season than he had ever before without a little help... I said you "generally" don't...BIG difference. ...I also never specified what that possible "little help" could have been or how it might have come about.

You and trumad continue to avoid the facts..Bonds has never been suspended by baseball for a dirty test nor has he been convicted of lying when he he claimed he never KNOWINGLY used steroids.

Bonds has also been a man and stood up for his rights, he should be admired rather than pilloried.

18. OK, then. Two comments jump out at me...
1.) How did Bonds manage to increase his yearly home-run totals of the previous 15 or so years by nearly 50% for a couple of years. That to me (and apparently you also) is a sign that something has changed. What would have helped someone who you have admitted (or cboy4) is already in top physical condition for many years?

2.) Bonds has already admitted that he has used steroids, albeit in your language of "unknowingly". If Bonds didn't realize that by 2002 or 2003 that he was using steroids from an underground drug factory, then he is either utterly stupid or arrogant beyond belief. Considering the flareup with "PEDS" began with McGwire and Sosa openly flaunting the rules several years before.

21. Dude--- he cooked his own goose when he admitted that Bonds used roids..
When I got him on that---it was over....notice I asked what if Hank had that little help---he said nothing...

That's why I can't stand the two little douche bags... because they're lying sacks of shit.

24. Now you're the one who's making stuff up
I answered that in #16....I have NEVER said for sure that Bonds KNOWINGLY used steroids...and considering the evidence against him is based primarily on speculation, I'm my mind he remains an innocent man.

Perhaps you should lay off the LandShark beer in the morning. I know it's watered down and all (cheap beer for a bunch of losers..as in Dolphins) but it doesn't appear to be doing your reasoning powers any good.

25. Your quote again----
Edited on Thu May-14-09 10:48 AM by trumad
I think the numbers speak for themselves...you don't generally suddenly hit 73 HRS after never hitting more than 50 your entire career without a little help.

I'll ask again--- what do you mean by "without a little help" ...

What was the "help" ...

You knock people for speculating but your fucking quote has speculation all over it.

From 1986--Barry's first year in MLB--to---1999, his average home runs per season was 32.

In 1999 he hit 34--- in 2000 he hit 49.

So I ask again--- what was the "little help" that dramatically spiked his home run power in 2000-2001?

So they beat The Phillies 2 outta 3 in Philadelphis WITHOUT Manny. Are the Phillies a good enough team for you cboynupton? The Dodgers have scored 40 runs in seven games without Manny. Will the haters ever give them any respect?

Nah, I didn't think so.

SINCE your idiot OP: 2-0.
