Roberto Luongo=OVER RATED!!!!
Sorry for those that really like this guy but I think it's pretty much official now. I think the league corranated this guy "the best goaltender in the league" without waiting for proof. He really never accomplished anything in this league.

After his late season melt down last year and his performance against Chicago I think it's fair to say he's no Brodeur or Roy.

1. Granted..there's no excuse
giving up 7 goals in an elimination game...he was inconsistent the entire series. I was listening to CKNW (sports talk Vancouver) last night and they were all over Luongo..callers and hosts alike.

2. But Didn't The Hawks Have A Million. . .
. . .shots on goal?!? They peppered the goal in the 2nd and 3rd. Not sure what happened there was Luongo's fault. I think the Canucks defense let him down. I watched the game.

I know the Vancouver fans are disappointed, but i think they may be blaming one person when the whole team defense was bad.

3. Luongo has pretty much run out of excuses
For years he's had poor performances in key games and it's always been the team in front of him.

Luongo is out out of excuses.

4. I watched the game too
and at least three of those goals were softies..most notably the tying goal right after the Canucks had taken the lead with about 7 minutes left. Heck, even Luoungo afterwards said 'I let my teammates down'..

This was a winnable series for the Caunucks, they led in the third period of all 3 of the final games they lost. To win a Stanley Cup your goaltender needs to stand up and make the big saves..too often in this series Luoungo failed to do that.

5. Softies?
Somehow i just can't believe you actually watched the game. There were NO softies by either team in that game.

6. I wonder
if you're a real hockey fan..the wrap around that tied the score at 5 was definitely a softie. Luongo had a .879 save percentage for the series...that's pathetic for a goaltender making his kind of money.

I previously provided you with a link in which Luongo admits he had a bad game. Perhaps you didn't take the time to read it.. Since, according your trusted hockey eye, out of 12 goals in game 6 not a single one was stoppable. Therefore I'll provide with a relevant Luongo quote: "I think I let my teammates down tonight, it's something that's going to take a while to get over."
