Interesting to see how the Mets and Dodgers did today. Also, the other New York
team got hammered by the Orioles. Even more curious is the Natinals are leading Arizona. Hmmm.

1. Yes..it is interesting
the Pirates have now lost 7 in a row, 11 of 12...and the kings of ineptitude are now playing .400 baseball for the season. Seventeen in a row comin' right up! :woohoo:

3. Interesting see the Dodgers clobber the Giants today
sans Manny. And I gotta say Fred Lewis is the worst left fielder I've ever seen. The guy's an embarassment.

4. That's okay. You get Tim Lincecum tomorrow.
We'll take 2-of-3 on the road any time. And then we go home and play the powerful Nationals. The Dodgers go on the road and play three in Philadelphia and three in Florida. I predict a disastrous road trip.

5. I wouldn't take the Nats for granted
The Dodgers did after being up 6-0...I'll laugh my ass off if the Nats sweep ..

8. Well they won't sweep because they get Cain and Zito,
which seems hard for me to believe I'm including Zito. I'm less concerned about the Nats scoring than I am the Giants doing so since they do have the worst hitting in the NL.

6. The Metropolitans have a good team. It's no surprise they're playing fairly well.

7. So that's what 'Mets' is short for, huh?
Cool! I've got my learn-one-new-thing-per-day task out of the way, and it's not even 8:30 am... :)

10. I could tell you that A's is short for Athletics, but you probably already know that
How about this: if it wasn't for a massive artificial control structure, it's likely that the Mississippi River would soon change course to bypass New Orleans and Baton Rouge altogether. That's kinda interesting, right?

11. Actually, it is! I saw a New Deal film about the Mississippi years ago...
I'll have to scout that. I LOVE tidal stuff - thanks!
