Chicago and Vancouver tied at 1 game a piece

Amazing, Chicago still took tons of penalties in this one and Vancouver came out looking very bad. Roberto Luongo has allowed eight goals in two games and confirming what I always thought was true; Luongo is not a big game goaltender. He was horrible in this one.

On to Chitown for the next two.

1. Nothings been "confirmed" yet

admittedly Luongo didn't look overly sharp and Chicago outplayed the Canucks thoroughly after the first period...but it's only 1 game and the series is tied. I suggest you wait a bit before gloating...there's a lot of hockey yet to be played.

BTW..the Blackhawks had one more power play opportunity than the Canucks.

2. I'm not gloating

Nor am I saying anything has been confirmed yet.

I am saying Luongo is "confirming". That means in the process.

Luongo melted down at the end of last season costing Vancouver a post season berth.

The Canucks were up 3-0 heading into the third and Luongo coughed up a 3 goal lead.

Canucks were up 2-0 in this one and Luongo coughed up the lead again.

I have long suspected that this guy is not a big game goalie. At this stage of his career to have that kind of question mark hanging over your head is not a good thing. Alls I'm saying is that this does not bode well for him at all as his play has been lackluster.

4. I think one thing has been confirmed.

Neither team is consistent enough to beat Detroit. :)

Vancouver is lucky to be coming out of there with a single win. It looks clear that when Chicago wants to they can dominate the Canucks, they just aren't disciplined enough (the youth effect, I think) to do it for 60 minutes.

I'm still sticking with my Canucks in 7 pick, but so far neither team has played a full 60 minutes, and neither team looks good enough the beat the Wings (who I still think will dispatch the Ducks).

3. Luongo made an awesome save

to rival the one earlier today by the Caps goalie (whatshisname). So give him props for that. I still think Vancouver will take the series.
