The USA needs to start taking this tournament seriously. That 9-4 loss to Japan was embarassing.

2. the announcers made a GREAT point last night

One team (Japan) is playing like it's the world series, the other team (USA) is playing like it's spring training. Coach Johnson was bleeping awful in his decisions. Who in their right mind brings out a Nationals reliever just so he can get time in, with the game on the line?? :banghead:

after Oswalt got beat around in the 4th, the game was never really "on the line."

5. we pulled to within two in the 8th inning

we were very much in that game when Johnson made the shitty decision to bring in Longoria instead of Victorino and then Hanranhan over Shields in the bottom of the 8th. Plus we had our big hitters coming up in the top of the 9th. We could've won that game had it been treated as a game and not practice.

The USA roster should be like an All-Star lineup. In fact, it mostly is, which makes the choke job even uglier.
