I Hope Manny Ramirez Gets NOTHING from Any MLB Team.
Yeah, he QUIT on the Red Sox. Manny is a QUITTER. I hope that Frank McCourt gives Manny a little "FU" and takes his $45 million offer and puts it in the bank. Manny and his agent Scott Boras deserve nada. Manny is such an arrogant prick. With millions losing their jobs and millions more poised to get pink slips, Manny should be grateful that the Dodgers were offering that staggering sum.
Thoughts?

1. Yes, well said Rockholm.... he is a punk.
But if the Giants get him, I may have to modify my opinion.

One thing is clear, the Dodgers will be finishing well below .500 this year.

I'd take it too...attitude and all. His great hitting covers for a multitude of ills.

The Pirates signing Manny. :spray:
hahahaha

You do have a nice little stadium, even though you copied us with the splash hit idea.

9. Yeah and you haven't won since
16 consecutive losing seasons, with #17 coming up....that's worse than pathetic.

The Pirates are no better than a mediocre Triple A team

but in the NFL you've gone bandwagon jumping....therefore, IMO, you cannot be considered a COMPLETE dedicated sports fan.

12. Don't you think it's ironic that you guys copied the splash hit
idea from us, considering the king of the splash hit is a guy you guys got rid of and hate?

Think about how funny that is.

21. I read it's 443 feet down the right field line until splash down
in the Allegheny and 352 into the Bay at our stadium.

Anyway, I found this:

River Blasts: Home Runs that landed in the Allegheny River on the fly:

1. July 6, 2002: Daryl Ward, Houston Astros, off of Pirates' Kip Wells 479'

But it's 2003 information, so there have prolly been some more.

I was always hoping Bonds would do it...if nothing else it would have shut up the booing from the Pirate fans as they opened their mouths in awe.

24. The Giants S-U-C-K when they play in Pittsburgh.
I don't know whether they take them for granted or what, but it's usually a 3-game series disaster.

25. The Bucs did the same thing in the 70's against the Giants.
They would lose 8 or 9 out of 12 against a team that could barely win 70 games. :grr:

26. That's the biggest worry. When you have a good team and
you play someone shitty .. that the players won't bother trying, and the next thing you know, you're down 8-1.

When the Niners were good, I always wanted them playing good teams.

It was when they played the New Orleans's when I'd get worried .. and the Saints would almost always beat them. :wtf:

27. On the other hand, if your the shitty team and you beat the top team...
Dallas in 89 beats the Redskins for their only victory.

Dallas in 60 ties the Giants to avoid a perfect losing season.

Yeah, the :wtf: moments in sports.

28. Yeah but the 49ers would almost always comeback late
against the Saints. I remember one year in New Orleans, back in the glory days, Montana brought them back in the 4th quarter to win something like 31-28 after trailing all game..and Eddie was at the end of the tunnel congratulating the players one by one as they came off the field...man, he was a tremendous owner and those were great times.

Edited on Tue Mar-03-09 10:42 PM by cboy4
Walsh or Siefert were doing things.

Just sat back and congratulated the players without trying to make the win all about himself.

Unlike that arrogant Jerry Jones who interferes with everything .. especially, paceing the sidelines during games like he has some reason to be the fuck down on the field.

I will say, however, that situation sets up some fantastic television of him crying after the Cowgirls lose. I can't get enough of those camera shots!!

LOOK AT THE A-HOLE. Ughhhh :puke:

Seeing as to how everyone here pilloried Belichek and Craft last year for taking videos "illegally", it kind of makes you wonder how DeBartelo would have taken the heat and his apologist's would have taken the heat after his felony conviction.

On edit: Kind of sounds similar to an certain owner of a major league baseball team who is a convicted felon.

Hmm.

If the Dodgers end up taking Manny, it will only be for a one year otr two year deal, and Manny will feel slighted, refuse to really play, and cearte havoc in the clubhouse.

He's holding out partly because he doesn't want to go to spring training and thinks the offer will still be good once he's good and ready and once he's gotten out of actual work. Screw him!

37. Manny hasn't made a deal because he's lazy and doesn't want to do spring training.
He's meeting with the Dodgers Wednesday (today) to iron out the deal. He'll be a Dodger by the weekend at the latest.
