Even some Bonds haters agree...& they're agreeing in huge numbers

BRILLIANT COMMENTARY

I agree some other posters who have commented that this has become pointless! If and when Bonds is found guilty, what have we really accomplished???

No matter what, his legacy is already stained. Finding him guilty isn't going to change anything, and come on, it just STEROIDS! I don't agree to any athlete using steroids, but this is a matter for the MLB, not a FREAKING GRAND JURY!!

In midst of the worst financial crisis this country has ever faced, why do we the taxpayers have to pay for a freaking grand jury to drag down the name of one man??? This is an OUTRAGE! How many years are we going to spend investigating this???

And, Bonds may be a jerk, but why is he so singled out when we know of so many other players that have done steroids. This has become a witch hunt and nothing more.

Commentary: Truth of the matter, feds are wasting time chasing liars

By JEROME SOLOMON Copyright 2009 Houston Chronicle

Enough already. Can we get a bailout from the senseless persecution, I mean, prosecution of baseball players for involvement with steroids?

I’ll take “Stop the insanity,” for a thousand, Alex. Astros shortstop Miguel Tejada has been charged with telling little white ones to Congressional staffers and is expected to plead guilty today. So what if it’s a plea agreement?

(On a side note: Miguel, it would be best if you show up at Minute Maid Park today for your scheduled news conference, and apologize for everything from buying performance-enhancing drugs to the unfairness and impurity of the designated hitter to the recent economic slide. We love contrition in America.)

The feds are kicking in doors all over the country looking to charge athletes with lying about steroid use. At what expense? To what gain?

Tejada goes down on a check swing. Roger Clemens is on deck. Will Barry Bonds walk?

I understand that if we can’t catch people doing illegal activities, we still can make them pay for lying to authorities about the illegal activity we couldn’t catch them doing.

That is good law enforce-ment — when it comes to laws we want to enforce. Is this really one of them?

Riiiiight, but it's just myself and Upton who believes this!!1!

1. Unbrilliant
Two dimensional thought. Color me wholly unimpressed. An opinion based upon nothing but opinion. So?

4. Try puting two plus two together for once Professor.
I don't even know how you think what you just typed amounts to proving me incorrect.

But with all due respect ... seriously ... you'd think someone with a screen name like yours would be a little more intellectual in response.

Know what I mean?

6. I Know What You THINK You Mean
However, being willfully obtuse, as you have been on this issue since the beginning, is not an excuse.

Not anymore.

You're going out of your way to make enemies and to stir up trouble.

That's just stupid. And by now, that is just expected.

question to which you had no idea the answer.

Your silence in refusing to answer speaks volumes!

You couldn't grasp the things i know.

Want my CV? I doubt it.

Speaking of college, i know your type. The one who dropped the class when they found out they couldn't handle the "D" they deserved.

Tell me, genius: How many classes in quantum theory did you pass? Yeah, that's what i thought.

16. Why would I have taken that class? I'm not a scientist.
And I never recieved a D.

The only class I dropped was an elective (or maybe it was GE, I forget -- accounting), and I did so because I missed two classed and become immediately lost.

3. Yet another unsophisticated response from you.
You know I'm correct.

People are shouting from the mountaintops that this is a shameful waste of tax money that could be used to help people who have lost the will to go on because they're desperate.

I'm simply posting examples of what people are saying, including those who think Bonds took steroids.

Yet you refuse to acknowledge it.

It reminds me of when George W Bush refused to acknowledge there were no WMD's in Iraq, even though everyone else did.

7. Ummm, please type a summary of how you don't think
me providing links from people arguing the same thing I'm arguing, is intellectually lazy?

I've already presented my case.

I'm providing proof that it's not just myself who believes this.

And some how it's laziness and convenience? :wtf:

Please tell me specifically how I'm wrong.

And it's going to take more than a sentence of insults GAC.

You're going to have to use your brain.

14. A Picture Of You As A LIttle Brat, Huh?
No i have something. It's that i know what you think you're doing. And you're not doing what you think you're doing. And, nobody here is really buying it anymore.

The only thing anyone here needs is to keep letting the rope slack. You'll hang yourself.

When you've made a good point, i've had your back.

As soon as someone who has taken your side doesn't buy the act, you get chippy.

That speaks LIBRARIES about you.

If you think i've got nothing, then you are being willfully obtuse.

15. Since the Professor doesn't get it, let me help:
***I argue that going after Bonds for something so unimportant is a witch hunt and amounts to a tragic waste of tax money.

***In order to show that I'm not the only person who believes this, I've been posting articles, etc., stating the same thing. It shows I'm not alone.

***And tonight, I posted a blog comment from a Bond hater who even admit this whole thing is a travesty.

So what does the Professor -- who's clearly bitter about his baseball team having one of the highest payrolls in MLB, yet still can't at the minimum get to the series like Tampa, which has 1/4 or the payroll requirement, and hasn't won a ring in a hundred years -- have to say?

Well, we're not really sure because none of it makes any sense amid the insults and anger.

However, we do know he didn't prove me wrong.

We do know he doesn't understand the premise.

And we do know he refuses to articulate something useful.

(There will be lots of typos and grammar mistakes in this post because I don't feel like proofing it).

But I'm sure the professor will take the time to line by line point that out.

Can you at least keep most of this stuff in one, two, or three threads? Is it really necessary for you to blanket the entire forum with a new Barry Bonds didn't do it thread every time somebody posts an op-ed?
