Recruiting by Conference
Edited on Wed Feb-04-09 10:24 PM by cobalt1999
In the TOP 25 Rivals ranking:

SEC 10 - It is easy to figure out why the SEC rules the planet Earth

ACC 4 - Not bad for a flag football conference

Big 10 4 - They're awesome!

Pac 10 3 - I was surprised they had more than one.

Big 12 3 - I was sure the entire Big12 South would be in the top 25.

Independent 1 - Nice Job Charlie Cheeseburger

Big East 0 - Wow...just....wow!

2. USC got the top rated QB
in the country......Matt Barkley from Mater Dei.

I've seen one list that has the highest rated Big Ten signing at 26th...DE William Campbell to Michigan. The conference's heyday as an elite college football conference are long gone.

12. Dude---that statement of yours proves you don't know shit about football...
Butch Davis is considered one of the greatest college football recruiters of all time.

Now you may knee jerk and blast back that I'm crazy---- but before you do, take a deep breath, and research who Butch recruited at Miami.

14. Yep,guys.
Iowa finished 10th or 11th. In the Big Ten. Yet, we'll be rated #19th or so to start next year. Explain that. Five years ago we had the #4 class in the country and 80% of those didn't do dick. A crap shoot, pure and simple.

16. These rankings mean absolutely nothing.
These are all kids with a lot of growing to do. Who knows where the best talent of this class will be in 2 years.

17. It doesn't mean much by individual, but there is a strong correllation...
between recruiting rankings and top 10 teams.

Exceptions abound, but the correlation exists.

19. It's kind of a chicken or the egg thing though.
Naturally the best, most prominent programs draw the top recruits. The top players coming out of high school are not necessarily going to be the top players coming out of college.
