Cowboys reportedly consider releasing T.O.
Concerned about team chemistry more than their talent level, the Dallas Cowboys are considering releasing receiver Terrell Owens, according to a report on Wednesday night.

Widely considered a preseason Super Bowl favorite, the Cowboys failed to even make the playoffs. According to an ESPN report, that has forced Wade Phillips' coaching staff and owner Jerry Jones to have serious discussions about whether or not to release their controversial star.

"I think we all know that chemistry is the problem with this team more than the schemes or anything else,'' an unnamed Cowboys source told ESPN. "Are we going to continue to allow talent to outweigh everything else in the decisions we make with players and putting the roster together? We're like the Redskins used to be when they signed every player they wanted. There's more to it than talent. It has to be more about the team.''

1. Someone will take him.
The fact that he's an absolute nutcase doesn't change the fact that he's still a beast on the field.

3. He's gonna have to find a team without an entrenched, star quarterback
because qb's like Rothlisberger will not want him on the team.
He drops too many passes.
Fails to complete patterns.
Whines at qb's on the sidelines
And has thrown more than 1 qb under the bus:
Insinuated that Jeff Garcia is gay.
Donovan McNabb fight is well known.
Drew Bledsoe
Tony Romo

That's four out of four.

He wants to win a SB. Where's he gonna go?

13. I don't think any coaches are going to want him either.
Head coaches don't want to deal with the headache any more than the QB's do. He'd not only have to be the best WR in the NFL, he'd have to be so by a wide margin to make all of this worth it, and he's not. He'll get his next job because an OWNER wants him. Owners don't have to deal with his horse shit day-to-day, so for them, it looks like they're trying to address team issues but they're really throwing their coaches under the bus. The coach that gets stuck with him will say the right things (at first, anyway), but what else are they going to do?

Paging Al Davis and his "No Ring" circus.

23. Al Davis -- right on the money
Owens would have a great young QB to play head games with too -- JaMarcus Russell.

30. That'll be his last stop.
TO's 35 (I think) & getting long in the tooth.

Here's where he'll NEVER end up:

Pittsburgh--the Rooneys would never tolerate his crap
New England--Belichick would never tolerate his crap
Green Bay
Buffalo
Miami
Chicago

Oakland is pretty much the only team that would put up with a spoiled prima donna like him.

4. Interesting
You'll always love him and yet...
he tried to smear by Jeff Garcia by insinuating he's gay.

I'm kind of confused

9. I loved him free a team sports prospective just like Red Sox
fans loved that right wing hack Curt Schilling from a team prospective.

If we started weeding out individual homophobes, Republicans, and fundies from sports, I imagine it would be next to impossible to cheer for a team.

So don't be confused. I don't condone outing or insinuating or whatever it might be.

5. *snort*
As time goes by Snyder in Washington seems to be learning more, while Jerry Jones seems to becoming more and more like the Snyder of old..I particularly like this point:
"We're like the Redskins used to be when they signed every player they wanted. There's more to it than talent. It has to be more about the team.''

I think even Snyder wouldn't touch TO now.

6. Heh Heh. Nice dig by Jerry at Danny-boy!!
Interestingly the first team I thought of would be Snyder's. TO wouldn't go to Oakland, and I don't think Coughlin would take him after the ordeal with Burress.

7. I don't think they could get it past Eli
TO is terrible with Quarterbacks
His past with Garcia, McNabb, Bledsoe and now Romo has been terrible.

I think Manning would balk at this and the Ownership would side with Eli if it came down to having to choose between what what Coughlin wanted and what Manning wanted.

11. Naw.
After Philly there wasn't even a hint that Snyder was interested in TO when he was on the market, of course Gibbs was still running the show then..However I get the feeling Jim Zorn wouldn't be interested..

17. That's not correct
Biggest needs are a pass rusher, an o- tackle, a safety, and a QB. Ask Mike Singletary.

like Owens. Unlike the Cowgirls, the 49ers are not a team made up of punks.

They've all won the same number.

I ave faith this year the Eagles will do it.
I'm a McNabb fan, have been even before capt oxycotin went into his racist rant on ESPN.

What would mke an Eagles Super Bowl sweeter would be how it would tear owens up inside

31. Release Wade Phillips and his staff first...
...I think TO is poison, but they need to start at the top and then work down to who else should be let go.

32. Dallas needs a warden not a coach
considering Phillips has had to put up with everything from ex cons to chronic malcontents, it's hardly surprising that he has lost control of the locker room.

33. From what I hear and read, he just doesn't even try to get them in line...
...what's his nickname, Coach Powderpuff? that's not right, but it's the general idea. Besides, Couglin had his share of criminals, and still made the playoffs...Dallas has way too much talent going to waste.
