1. I was there a few weeks ago
for a highs school playoff game. My daughter is the drum major at the local high school. What a thrill it was for me to see my baby directing the band at that grand old stadium. Like it or not, Texas Stadium (the house that Landry built) is a cultural icon.

2. a few weeks ago...
my aunt who lives in dallas, no cowgirls fan she, nor her family, as her father in law played for the green bay packers in the 60's....

anyway, she called me up to tell me a cute story about one of her idiot cowgirl fan neighbors. my aunt and her family live in one of the more richer suburbs of dallas (or it seems that way to me the time i visited) so her neighbors are upper-middle/lower-upper class incomes. shame they haven't got the brains to match, but i digress.

her neighbor was talking about the new cowgirls stadium and the fact it's costing 1.4 BILLION. at one point in the conversation she said something to the effect that with the new stadium for the cowgirls, the rest of the nfl should upgrade to the new gold standard... especially that shithole in green bay.

bit of background on this bimbo: she's a stereotypical big-haired trophy wife, lots of southern charm but not a lot of brains, a sneaky, backstabbing social climber.

to my aunt's credit (and thank god her husband did hear that comment) she didn't slug the lady, but she cut her down thusly, "even in a solid gold toilet bowl, shit still floats."

i'd have given anything to see the look on her face when my aunt slammed her down....

personally, i like the house landry built. it seems more... friendly, as it were. plus, if i read the schematics right, the new stadium will have less seating and toilets. less toilets, not a good idea....

3. It's ALL about luxury boxes. It was great to be back in RFK yesterday with no luxury box level. nt

5. Oh that's clever. It also signifies the destruction of Dallas'
Super Bowl hopes.
