In hoop. How the fuck did that happen? For such a shitty conference, I just don't understand it.

2. I keep tellin ya, Upton.
These things move in cycles. A lot of very good coaches in the Big Ten, presently.

4. FYI to the Big Ten haters:
The Big Ten has had the most appearances in BCS games. Now suck it.

6. "The Big Ten has had the most appearances in BCS games."
Edited on Sat Dec-20-08 11:32 PM by GaYellowDawg
BCS bowl games or BCS championship games? If you're referring to the BCS championship game, the Big 10 has appeared 3 times - Ohio State being the only school - and they've had one tiny win and gotten gut-stomped twice. Overall, in the BCS, the Big 10 is 8-9. That contrasts with the SEC's 4-0 record in the championship game and 11-4 overall record.

Bow to your master, the SEC. And suck it.

Highest Winning Percentages By Conference

Conference/Percentage (Record)

Mountain West/1.000 (1-0)
Southeastern/.733 (11-4)
Pacific-10/.667 (8-4)
Big East/.600 (6-4)
WAC/.500 (1-1)
Big Ten/.471 (8-9)
Big 12/.429 (6-8)
Atlantic Coast/.100 (1-9)
Independents/.000 (0-3)

11. You forgot that the one tiny win was because Clarett made a *defensive* play
stripping the ball from the Miami DB who had made what appeared to be a game-saving pick.

13. What part of my statement is incorrect? 17 BCS games, most of any conference.
By the way, in SEC and the Big 10 are tied in their last 19 Bowl appearances I believe.

14. I love it Captive!
Five days. Only in the Sports forum. Watch it, my friend. As you posted this, Wisconsin is getting their ass kicked. I have my doubts for the Big Ten, this year. Overmatched, I'm afraid.

15. Condem you are probably correct. However, I have good feelings about Sparty and your Hawkeyes...
...but my Buckeyes are going to have all they can handle with a freshman quarterback. It will be interesting to see which Minnesota and Northwestern teams show up. Penn State ...(gulp)...may be reaaalll ugly.

As for the slow response, I have been traveling for holidays and I have been missing my DU! I am on brother-in-law's computer.

16. Good to hear from you , Captive
We'd better show up. As for Sparty. Georgia is 9-2 in their bowl games af late. A tall order.

7. Well maybe the Big 10 is better than ESPN thinks
After all, isn't the four letter network the ultimate authority on all things sports? If they say the ACC is better than the Big 10, then it has to be so. If they say that the Big 10 stinks, then it must be true. The Big Ten has at least three elite teams, Michigan State, Purdue, and Illinois. Yes, Illinois. Just watch 'em. They are very athletic and will raise some eyebrows. And Ohio State is going to make noise on the national scene as well.

8. Minnesota is well- coached, Bluz
Indiana will improve under Crean. Iowa is a year away, however, Lickliter will get it done here. Michigan continues to improve. The Big Ten will grow stronger next year.

12. I believe the ACC won the ACC-Big 10 challenge again this
year even though half the ACC teams really aren't very good.
