I hate Saban. It was priceless watching his expressions when we beat him on a last second bomb in the 05 Cap One. His last game at LSU. However, I hate everything Notre Dame stands for. It's all about the $$$. If they joined the Big Ten ( a logical step ) they wouuld be relegated to the second tier year after year. If ND isn't relevant, than the fans are whining.

4. Here's the scenario, trumad.
I fucking despise the Gators. I'll root for a Gators loss over just about anything. So pick the Gators in a blowout (working your magic), and save your voodoo against 'Bama for the National Championship game. Falling flat on his face in the big game is a punishment more befitting of Little Nicky.

5. Yeah---but if he gets into the NC all we'll hear about is St. Nick.....
but it's all bullshit. The guy is a first class prick who has a team that is comprised of Shula recruited players, and a team that played an SEC schedule filled with teams on a down year because of reloads.

On the other hand, Urban Legend basically did the same thing with Ron Zook players.

This is a tough call but I'm leaning against the Gators.... only because them not winning the SEC is equivalent to them not getting a chance to fuck their 1st cousin.

Typical Gator fan:

31. Here's solution for you....
root for The Miami U. team scheduled to go to the vaunted Emerald Nut Bowl in that San Fransisco Baseball Stadium where both teams are on the same sideline..... Just forget about Big Boy, Championship level football that guys like Meyer and Saban seem to produce.

Stick to The Randy Shannon types and you won't really have to worry about deciding which Big Timers to root against.

12. Same boat, but I'm more annoyed at USC than anything else
USC handed Florida the national title opportunity in 2006 by losing at UCLA, and same thing this year by not showing up in the first half at Oregon State.

There is no way a team that loses at home should have opportunity at a national title. It screams how screwed up the BCS formula is. Florida blew at home to Mississippi, just like LSU lost handily at home to Florida in 2003 and at home to Arkansas at the end of last season. Yet somehow the computers are willing to forgive incompetence like that. Unbelievable. It should be an automatic disqualifier. Miami in its 5 national title seasons lost 2 games, at Florida in '83 and at FSU in '89. I'd have been certain it was a Monty Python joke if someone was trying to give us a title shot after losing a home game.

Very difficult to take college football postseason seriously anymore, after the old wonderful conference tie-in system was done away with in favor of crap like the Bowl Coalition and now BCS.

Anyway, this is not a difficult rooting choice. Alabama is short term hatred, based on one asshole. I'll despise the Gators forever so denying them a title is the priority. But that doesn't cloud my expectation. Alabama is in season two of the new regime, with an awesome freshman class that Saban brought in, but it shouldn't be enough against a Meyer team in season four at Florida. If both teams had equal talent base and experience, Alabama would prevail based on more fundamental and physical basic football. It still could happen but I always look to preseason ratings for clarity at this time of year and Florida was pegged well ahead of Alabama. That tends to play out as reality.

The survivor should swamp the defenseless Big 12 foe. It will be a boring finesse game. USC with that defense vs. an SEC team would have been rousing theater, but Pete Carroll can't seem to get his team ready for the first conference road game.

20. Teams that lose 28-3 should never be allowed to be National champs....
like one of the many joke "National Champ" teams Miami claims. Let me just repeat that for those who don't believe it could happen... Miami is called the '83 National champ even though they lost a game that season by.........4 friggin' Touchdowns.... And then got to play the champ game in their home stadium.

Another rule... National champ games played in your own stadium rather than on a neutral site... don't count either. Of course only Miami U. has been allowed to play a champ game in it's own (former) stadium. So scratch those 3 bogus "Champ" designations, as well.

Also, if you're in The Big Least Conference (Miami)... and play a schedule consisting of Temple ten times per season and one game vs FSU, who beats you every other year... you don't get to talk about Big Boy, SEC football teams or their schedules or their wins and losses. Also, when your schedule difficulty increases when you join the..... ACC......... you don't get to talk about Big Boy, SEC Football teams. Oh... and congratulations on that sterling Miami U record of 4-4 in The ACC, this year. That raises Miami U's overall record in ACC play to.......... 15-17. (Chuckle)

by pretending you were an Ivy League fan... I use to call you on being a stealth Gator fan, and you never really came clean. But you know what---it's typical of a fucking chickenshit Gator fan.

You telling a Hurricane fan that we play nobody---- but you're a follower of a team who eliminated the rivalry because we consistently kicked your sorry asses. You gave up the rivalry so you could play Montana State. Hence the name--Chickenshit Gators.

Oh--- and the last 6 times we played your sorry asses over the last decade the record stands 5-1. Oh---but we're so weak..... we play a weak schedule.... I'll say it again---5-1 the last decade against your chickenshit Gators.

So what you're saying chickenshit Gator is that Miami, because they lost early in the season during one of their NC runs, that makes them less worthy of an NC? Well then---wouldn't that eliminate the Chickenshit Gators since they lost to LOL Ole Miss?

You Chickenshit Gator fans are cowards and will always be cowards.

17. Oh where do I start.
First of all Nick Saban is not a prick or a horrible guy, he is a football coach first and foremost. He is winning because of his recruiting class. Shulas players are a big part of it, but a good recruiter means nothing if he cant win with NFL quality players. Saban is both, he is arguably the best recruiter in College football and can motivate a team like none other. He said what he did in Miami becasue he had to, he couldnt say yes Im leaving with 3 games to go, hes a smart business man. Saban is a man of the process he understands how to coach and win in college, he will win coach of the year, and all his players love the man. I talk to some of them on a weekly basis, they all say they liked Shula and he was a nice guy and a decent coach, but Saban is the second coming of Bear. Well I think he is the first coming of Saban, but either way he is good, possibly the best in college football now. I too hate ND, just because of the favortism shown. We(bama) got in trouble for giving a guy 10K to play here, yet ND get multimillion dollar contracts with NBC and has no conference and an automatic BCS bid if they win 8 games. For a team that has not won ANYTHING since 1988 they sure think they are owed something. Bama is a true powerhouse, we were hit hard in the mid nineties, suffered through probation and near death penalty, had some 3-8 seasons, won the SEC in 99, had a glimmer of hope in 05 until Prothro went down. Now we sit here number 1 in all polls, 12-0 looking toward Florida in the SEC championship. If anything Nick Saban has reminded us what we stand for and who we are as a football nation. Any rational observer would rank him in the top five of active college coaches. In no particular order: Nick Saban, Bob Stoops, Mack Brown, Joe Pa, and Pete Carroll. Urban Myer is good but disrespectful and a flash in the pan, well see what happens when tebow is gone.

You guy's haven't been a so-called football nation since the Bear died. What---in the early eighties?....

As a Dolphin fan I put my faith in Saban, and my belief that he was telling the truth over and over and over when he said he would not not leave the Phins--- and of course he was lying his cowardly little ass off the whole time. Good business man my ass---he's is a lying fucking coward who put his tail between his legs and went running off to the minor leagues cause he couldn't get the job done in Miami.

Ummm 10 grand?...no--- you guy's got sanctioned because of crooked booster paying close to 150 grand to a high school coach to get one of his players to sign with Bama.

21. Flash in the pan.......?
See what happens when Tebow is gone......... With a B minus QB, Chris Leak, Meyer won a National Championship by 4 TD's over Ohio State and while at Utah he went 13-0 beating Big East Champ in his BCS Bowl. Next season he returns 17 starters at Florida (assuming the 2 Juniors go pro otherwise it's 19 returning) and will almost certainly be The '09 preseason #1....

Meyer's resume is already better than Nick Saban's. Also, Meyer is the only college coach in history who has coached a Heisman Trophy winner, the #1 pick in The NFL Draft and a National Championship team.

24. Ex-Miami Dolphins coach Nick Saban on cusp of returning to Dolphin Stadium
Vilified when he left the Dolphins in 2006, Nick Saban's Crimson Tide could return to Dolphin Stadium if they beat UF in the SEC championship game Saturday.

<snip>

"Miami's worst nightmare -- the return of coach Nick Saban to Dolphin Stadium -- is but 60 minutes away from being a reality.

Vilified for walking out on the Dolphins in 2006 and helping turn a once-proud franchise into the laughingstock of the NFL, Saban has achieved greatness at the University of Alabama. His Crimson Tide are 12-0 and ranked No. 1 in the country by The Associated Press.

Though he failed miserably in trying to rebuild the Dolphins, his latest reorganization at the collegiate level has been a masterpiece.

Now, less than two years removed from his infamous statement -- ''I'm not going to be the Alabama coach'' -- Saban is one win away from returning to Dolphin Stadium with his new team and new life.

The only thing separating Saban from a return trip to Miami is the Florida Gators. UF is 11-1 and ranked No. 2 in country by the AP.

In a bizarre twist, fueled only by resentment for one man, the number of Gators fans living in South Florida might reach an all-time high at 4 p.m. Saturday when Alabama plays Florida for the Southeastern Conference championship in Atlanta.

The winner will play in the national championship game on Jan. 8 at Dolphin Stadium."

Grow the f*ck up. So a coach lied about his future employment. Big f*ckin' deal. It happens 20 time a year. Did you whine like a little school girl when Shula lied about not leaving Baltimore for The Dolphins? The Dolphins had to give The Colts some draft picks for tampering, as I recall.

Would you have wanted Saban to have answered..."No comment" each time he was asked about leaving Miami for Bama?

Just get over it and grow, the f*ck up. Saban doesn't coach pro football well anyway. Dolphin fans should be happy the way the whole deal worked out. Saban did you dumb asses a favor by leaving.
