Phils can close this out tomorrow night
I am in shock still, this whole run is totally unexpected. We absolutely punked the Rays tonight. And tomorrow we are throwing Hollywood at them....unbelievable.

2. As a long suffering Philadelphia fan I'm having a hard time believing the position we're in.
The prospects look so good right now. Up 3-1 at home with our best pitcher going. You can't ask for a better setup. If we pull this off, the city is going to explode.

3. Phillies
It sounds weird, but even when the Phillies went through their losing streaks this season, as soon as they clinched the division title, I expected them to win the playoffs. For some reason, I had this "they're not going to lose" mentality. I even wrote in another message board back in June that I think they will win the World Series...and everyone made fun of me saying "Are you kidding..not in this century". }( :P

5. Excuse me?
Being excited that they might win their first WS since 1980 is gloating? I don't see that.
CBoy..stop being such a bitter sourpuss! You are rapidly setting the standard for no class in this forum. Attacking Phillies fans here for no reason and then going on about even if they do win, well they aren't all that..Now THAT is poor class in my book.
Geezus.:eyes:

10. The last thing we need to do is spray the sports forum
with potpourri and make it all touchy-feelie.

Let me jot down yet something else you're sensitive about. lol

14. .....
I know there's a difference.

Are you going to put flowery curtains up also and sign the sports forum up for O Magazine?

7. Who the hell is gloating
I said I am in SHOCK, that is hardly gloating. The Rays are a good team that has run up against a better one. Happens all the time, it just isn't often that the better team is from Philadelphia. I am not going to talk down the Rays, I am going to talk UP my Phillies. I have been a fan since 1964 and I don't need to listen to nitwits like you telling us Phillies fans about class. Piss up a rope. Pack sand sideways. Do whatever you have to do to get through tonight.

6. I'm not holding out much hope the the Rays at this point.
If they were going to win up in Philly it should have been one of the last two games. I'll be surprised if this series makes it back to Tampa.

8. I will be, too
I'll be surprised if this series makes it back to Tampa.

The Trop and all of its myriad catwalks, and even the aquarium with real live rays in it, is across Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg, "home of the newly wed and the nearly dead". :P

9. Yea, it's looking grim...just don't hang around here if
the Phillies win because this forum (along with its many bandwagon jumpers) will be intolerable.

13. Actually I was talking to Sentinel Chicken, who I know lives
in Tampa, and who is probably sad his Rays are behind.

I'm not sure why Philly fans are so defensive.

You're not crying like a baby, but some of your friends sure are.

Up 3 games to one here at 4:31pm Pacific, and some of your friends sound are going off like you're down 4-0.

Odd.
