Awful TV coverage
Too many bad camera angles.
Don't know about you all but I hate the "flying" camera and the shots it gives. Watching plays from the end zone is useless.
The replays were not used effectively IMHO.
There was a play, right before the long touchdown pass by the Eagles, that seemed to cause some on-field controversy, but the announcers said nothing about it. Anyone have a clue about that.
Announcers were too busy doing fox promos to pay attention to the game

1. YES!
I agree wholeheartedly. I spent more time during the game screaming at the TV about just that. It looked like they hired a 13 year old graphics kid to throw in cute effects that distracted the hell out of me. Did you see the one injected toward the end of the game that was kind of dual screen with the regular pre-snap shot and then a smaller pic of Brady upclose and both pics had a BORDER in blue I think! Gawd why can't they just show the Game!!! Then all those NAscar ads in the middle of the SUPER BOWL in progress.

And I am so sick of their running commentary telling me about the upcoming halftime show and the post game commentary! Just show the freaking game! I'm almost ready to give up on the NFL. I know I'm kind of odd being a female who loves the game and I've been a fan since I was about 8 years old, but even getting Sunday Ticket has become a drag. All of the commercial interruptions and crass republican, militarism, nationalism being pushed by the Corporate NFL is turning me off the game. I don't know if I'll keep watching.

*end of rant*

12. That graphic
with the split screen was about it for me.

Was that right before or after they had a shot that looked as if the football was a camera showing the center. Now that is something that helps you watch the game!

14. Yeah, we all want to have an extra close up of the center's butt!
And then that stupid ground camera angle from the orange goal line pylon! They are de-evolving into the XFL. :puke:

2. And Troy
talks and talks and talks. And once in a while there was some football.

All in all the most segmented football game I ever watched. Period.

The female color girl talking on while the game is moving. Very distracting too.

3. Awful Coverage
I have been very unhappy with FOX Football coverage. I wish you there was a button that you could turn off the talking and keep the game sounds. I would for one would use it.

Who is Joe Buck? Has he ever played the game? His play-by play is awful. He's too opinionated. During one play he was refering to Philly's feeble defense, as a sack was happening. Collingsworth is just has bad he makes statements that the play happening contradicts.

I thought the formula for football coverage was an intelligent guy doing play-by-play without opinions, backed up by a defense & an offense veteran player doing antecdotes and opinion.

Just Gripin'

4. Have to disagree about Collingsworth. He's hilarious.
I think he's more accurate than most with his assessments.

Fox was THE WORST in coverage this year for sound. Did you notice how in most of their games you could barely hear the announcers because the mics in the stands were so loud? Even during the playoffs. I kept thinking of calling to complain, but thought someone else working at Fox would figure it out or there must be thousands of fans already calling.

8. Joe Buck does baseball coverage
His father, Jack Buck, covered the St Louis Cardinals for decades.
Joe does baseball coverage pretty well, but whoever thought he could translate that to football should be shot.

9. what?
"Joe does baseball coverage pretty well"

Must disagree. Joe Buck only sounds tolerable when compared to Tim McCarver.

5. When Collingsworth said that the Eagles were dominating the game..
I about fell out of my chair w/ laughter. The Pats were leading, had several interceptions, and yet the Eagles were dominating the game?????

The guy never shuts up!!!

6. When did he say that?
Edited on Mon Feb-07-05 11:42 AM by Ripley
I didn't hear that. In fact he was one of the few of the anouncers pre-game who said the Pats dynasty would keep going for years, while the Fox guys...Bradshaw etc, predicted an Eagles win by up to 14 points!

During the first half the Eagles were dominating it. Brady had to admit he didn't even get a first down in the first quarter.

7. I'm just happy it was in high definition
Thanks to the Super Bowl being on Fox, my cable system finally added Fox in HD last week. Now I'll be able to watch 24 in high definition. It's a shame there's not much else worth watching on the network.

10. I hate the flying camera
I yell at the TV every time it is on.

Where is the best seat in the stadium? Is it the N-Zone? NO! It is the 50 yard line, which is where I want to watch the game from when I am watching tv.

13. Right!
How can you watch the depth of a punt from the end zone?
Go back to three cameras and leave the rest off.
The announcers seemed to get a bit sarcastic about the goal pylon camera. Maybe they got it?
