2. It was the Patriots from New England...
...who were the First Place Losers in that contest.

Glad I could help you refresh your memory.

Ecstatic, in fact.

:woohoo:

You'd have traded Miami's record with the Pats in a heartbeat if you could.

You need a new tact. This ball busting attempt doesn't work when you root for a crap team. :P

9. Really---
And spend the whole the rest of my life throwing up in my mouth when thinking about the choke of the century?

uhhhh No thanks, you can have it.

Oh and believe me---the ball busting works just fine and you're proving it.

12. LOL...this place is awesome.
For some reason football lends itself to trash talk better than any other sport, at least here in America.

Tru is a good guy...it's all in fun.

As for cboy, we can lure him here with a single "Bonds sucks" thread.

13. Really---
come on now-- admit the pain..... admit that it pains you to know that your team, a team that had all the advantages, sideline camera's etc.... would choke when counted the most.

One of the great pleasures that I took from that game is that I can pen emails just like this one to Pat's fan---and tweak the fuck out of them the rest of my life.

It's a beautiful thing.

15. No pain. For one, I don't take sports very seriously.
It's fun entertainment, but that's all it is. I'm not the most keyed up sports fan you'll ever meet. I think people who get all excited, paint their faces, etc are fucking morans. I appreciate sports for what they are and nothing more. And seriously, if you came up here you'd see that the loss didn't cause the wailing and gnashing of teeth that you may expect. Most fans took it surprisingly well, mostly because I think we all respected what the Giants managed to do.

Two, the Giants simply played better, and Eli made a play eluding the sack on that last drive that will go down as a huge play in Super Bowl history. The Giants deserved the win, and I was happy for them. It wasn't a choke at all. Choking is when you have to struggle to win a single game when you play the fucking Jets twice a year. ;)

And three, as a hockey guy, by the time the Super Bowl actually arrives I'm getting bored with the NFL anyways, and I was more than ready to move on to the Bruins full time. I'm actually looking forward to their season far more than I am with the Pats.

17. Not sure, either.
What I do know is this: 16-0 don't mean squat anymore, all because the Pats choked.

Way to ruin it for everybody you ruiners!

20. This is pretty sick but I've got to admit to it
Edited on Mon Aug-18-08 05:04 PM by Awsi Dooger
We had a major power outage here in Henderson, NV last night. Lights went out about 1:20 AM while I was watching late night Olympic coverage.

I was trying to stay awake in case the power came back on during the telecast, but I dozed off. Next thing I know I woke up about 5 AM and remembered my dream, or should I say nightmare: The Patriots were going unbeaten again in '08 and I was desperately rooting for someone to knock them off.

21. Perhaps not if Brady remains hobbled.
And of course if the Giants do contend, fans won't be wondering if they're still a bunch of low life liars and cheaters like the Patriots.

31. Even without Brady, the Pats still play
Miami, the Jets and Buffalo twice, along with KC, SF, DEN, OAK and ARI. They can go 8-8 with Rex Grossman at QB with that schedule.

And the avatar I post will be whichever one I bet on and lose ... if that's the way it plays out.
