I want to see the Eagles(W/TO) vs Steelers Super Bowl
Edited on Thu Jan-20-05 11:47 PM by Champ
They were the best teams from their conferences, effective offenses and very physical defenses. Should be a good game to watch. Pats or Steelers would probaly win by a pretty safe margin vs the Falcons. But anything can happen.

1. It's gonna be great!

The game won't change dramatically with Corey Dillon in the there...We have the number 1 defense against the run so we're not worried. Bellicheck Vs. Cowher...I guess we'll just have to see.

ps. get ready for some suprises by Dick Lebeau!

2. Ugh! I Hope Not. I'm counting on the PA teams to choke

Big Ben was exposed last week and the Eagles will crumble under the pressure that is on them to win. Did you watch the Falcons play last week. I think you are underestimating them. They look fired up right now.

3. I also seen the Falcons crumble in the regular season

Eagles defense is clearly the most dominant in the NFC, more so then the Falcons. Compare the talent between the 2. Vick and the Falcons are good, really good. #2nd best in the NFC. The Pats are really good but were the #2nd best team as well. I liked the way these 2 teams played all year and deserve to be in the big game. Pats and Falcons will have other opportunities.

Steelers survived a scare, they weren't exposed. The whole team is on a 15-0 run.

4. Both conference games should be good; don't underestimate ATL though
I didn't think much of them before, but have been pretty impressed with them so far. I had thought they'd be just like VT in that they just let Vick scurry about, but their D has been pretty good too. I do wish the AFC championship was the Super Bowl, as IMO those were best teams during the year. Pittsburgh is one of the few teams who is equipped to play vs NE - big, punishing backs, which should let them control the ball, and some very capable WRs too. If Rothlisberger can play better than last week, it should be a great game.

5. Believe me I'm not

Defense isn't as good as Philadelpha, New England, and Pittsburgh. Offense is better then Pittsburgh and maybe New England. But not Philadelphia with McNabb and Terrell Owens. They are real good, don't get me wrong.

8. Is TO definitely playing?
I had heard that he would definitely be back for the Super Bowl if they made it, but that a conference game would be less likely. Having him back takes a lot of pressure of McNabb and Westbrook. That little WR (?; Mitchell I think) has been pretty good too.

6. Then again I'd like to see Dillon in the Super Bowl
I just hate it when times when more then 1 within 5 years unless it is Denver. Wouldn't mind it as much if it was an NFC team.

7. Eagles and Steelers suck (in championships)
Over the last 20 years the NFL's two Pennsylvania teams are a collective 1-7 in conference title games:

2003 NFC: Carolina Panthers 14, Eagles 3
2002 NFC: T.B. Buccaneers 27, Eagles 10
2001 NFC: St. Louis Rams 29, Eagles 24
2001 AFC: N.E. Patriots 24, Steelers 17
1997 AFC: Broncos 24, Steelers 21
1995 AFC: Steelers 20, Indianapolis Colts 16
1994 AFC: San Diego Chargers 17, Steelers 13
1984 AFC: Miami Dolphins 45, Steelers 28

Aaahh who cares. This is the year that history becomes history.

9. That's the matchup I'd like to see as well.

Just to piss off the red staters if nothing else -- an
all Blue Super Bowl.

"I'm boycotting it." "Good!"

10. How much did it snow in Philadelphia (and Pittsburgh) yesterday?
Is this going to have much effect on the games? I know the Linc field is heated to 70.....

11. Heinz is heated also
I think to the 60's. WE only got about 4 inches here and the field was covered until today. It's freaking cold out, but sunny. THe field should be fine. The cold will be the only factor.
