I'm officially getting old when I know more Senior PGA players than PGA players.

Great course to be playing their championship on this weekend.

1. I don't know why the PGA doesn't have a tournament at Kiawah every year
I still remember hole after hole even though the only event I ever watched on that course was the famous '91 Ryder Cup. It's always ranked among the toughest courses in the world.

It shocked me to see Nick Price in the field. I didn't realize he turned 50.

But now that I think about it, many of the top European players were born in '57 or '58 so they'll be eligible soon if not already. Guys like Faldo, Ballesteros, Langer, Woosnam, Lyle, the heart of the European Ryder Cup teams from the '80s and '90s. It was amazing how close they were in age. Faldo probably won't play due to his CBS gig, and Ballesteros doesn't play much or well anymore, but Langer and Woosnam are logical to join when they are eligible.

Here's something hard to believe: Payne Stewart would be playing the senior tour now. He was born in January 1957.

2. Now see, those are all the guys I know and love.
I was really into the game through that period, and those guys were a blast to watch.I thought I saw Langer out there already earlier this season, but it could easily have been a regular PGA event.

It's weird thinking about Stewart.I still get goosebumps remembering the bagpipe player walking down the fairway into the fog after Payne died.

Kiawah is hosting the 2012 PGA Championship...but damn, that's a long way off.For me,a lot of times I watch a touney specifically because of the course being played (Sawgrass,Harbour Town,St. Andrews,Pebble Beach,Muirfield,etc.).Kiawah is even a bitch to play on the PC golf games.
