1. ESPN showed a clip....basically it was the whole fight.

I'm surprised Liddell forgot to keep his hands up. I think he went in too cocky.

Also, Din Thomas called out Kermit Cintron and Floyd Mayweather, and Dan Henderson is going to go for three belts at one time.

It's nice that we're seeing the top guys fight each other. I hope they leave a couple of mega matchups for Pride, though.

2. Dana hinted that Wandy and Chuck might finally
meet up as well.

Liddell always carries his hands like that. Usually he's such a good counterpuncher it works for him. Problem is Rampage is a little wild and very explosive, so like in the first fight, Chuck was thrown off. You can't counter a punch when it knocks you on your ass before you ever react, you know? Rampage also did a great job of not chasing Chuck. He cut the ring off well. People who chase Chuck play his game.

3. In both fights with Jackson
It seemed clear that Jackson was better at moving forward, cutting off the ring and Liddell can't deal with the pressure. Plus I think Jackson is much stronger physically and particularly in their first fight Liddell couldn't back him off.

Jackson winning should be a godsend. Liddell was a great clean cut dude but Jackson oozes charisma and promo abilities that should make him a huge draw.

4. He already signed a shoe deal before this fight

I'm glad Rampage won. Upsets (although this was barely an upset) are exciting. Also, there's a lot of great fights for him coming up, and IMHO he matches up favorably against all of them. He should really blow up after this.

5. another fight with Shogun would be interesting
I'd be interested to see somebody like Rashad Evans or Sokoudjou get a shot at him too. Henderson is a great fighter, size probably will be an issue when they fight.

6. I'd like to see Mayweather get into the octagon against any UFC fighter.
They would beat the hell out of him.

7. well his problem would be getting taken down
He's a great athlete and a great boxer, but he's only trained in that one area, and unfortunately, his style of defense etc sets himself up for an open takedown. Once on the ground he'd literally be like a child against even a mediocre grappler with marginal submission and ground and pound abilities. The percentages are bad in this case. To have a chance to win, Floyd would have to land one punch right off the bat and either knock a guy out or hurt him so bad that he's only a punch or two away from being out. How many 5 or 10 second KOs do you see in boxing, kickboxing or MMA or any other kickboxing sport? Hardly any, ever. But a decent grappler would just immediately go out and take a hard explosive shot on Floyd. Good grapplers can take most people down, an elite one can take virtually anybody there size down at any given time. Especially if they don't have any grappling training. Like me, I'm a former internationally competitive wrestler. I've wrestled around with my friends, some of whom are huge guys, outweighing me by almost 100 pounds. I can take some of those guys down at will. I once won a fight without throwing a punch, I took the guy down and choked him out. Easy too. And I am hardly as skilled as say a guy like Sean Sherk is. Sherk would annihilate me in less than a minute, he's too big (for me anyway) and too great of a wrestler. But I bet even I could take Floyd Mayweather down almost at will. Now he could maybe get away from me and get back up, but no way could he against a guy like Sherk. He'd just be too far out of his element.

But it would be foolish to trade punches with him. Not even for a few seconds. He's too dangerous. A smart fighter would go out and be at his heels and take him out of his element right off. Because if anybody wanted to engage Floyd in a punching war, well, they'd get freaking killed in less than a minute. You'd have to get to his legs or clinch with him immediately.
