He's a 16 year old playing Junior hockey in the OHL for the Oshawa Generals. He was granted Exceptional Player status, and was allowed to enter the OHL draft at age 14. At age 15, he scored 45 goals, and was the OHL Rookie of the Year, and CHL rookie of the year, He just finished his sophmore season, and broke Wayne Gretzky's junior goal scoring record, with 72 goals.

Let me repeat, the kid is 16 years old, and is playing against men who are 18, 19 and 20 years old.

Tavares isn't eligible for the NHL draft until 2009.
