Any golfers out there?
I have been fired up ever since the Masters to get out on the course, but the unusual April weather here in the Mid-Atlantic has only allowed me to watch on TV and break things in my home taking practice swings.

Luckily I have a TV in my office and can watch the Zurich Classic coverage on the Golf channel today and tomorrow. I'm glad to see the tour stick with New Orleans and the course looks amazing with the renovations.

Here's to 70 degree weather this weekend.

3. I'm jealous
I trust you've been hittin 'em straight?

I can't complain too much, I watching the Golf channel now (good to see Calcavecchia leading the Zurich Classic) and am ducking out of work in a few minutes to hit the driving range . . . although probably half of the Washington DC, metro areas has the same plan.

Enjoy the weekend.

5. quick 9 on thurs and fri afternoon
and 18 on Saturday. Shot 36 stableford pts - playing off 14 at my little country (as in bush) course in S.E. Queensland (Australia) about 1.5 hrs north of Brisbane.

We are sub tropical in climate and I get to play at least once a week, usually twice.

PGA tour really interesting at the moment for Aussies; seeing we have so many playing on the main tour.

Peace

6. 70s here in Iowa...hacked up at my local this Saturday
Man, I stunk. I kept telling myself, it was a long winter....but damn, I might as well have been swinging a two-by-four, for all the finesse I had.

8. I feel your pain
luckily I took a lesson this year prior to playing for the first time, otherwise it's like beating my head against a wall.

So far it's helped, but with the beauty of golf, I'm sure I'll revert to my bad habits on Saturday.

11. Biut you get that ONE golden shot...
A killer drive, a perfect chip or pitch, or a laser-beam putt....and you're hooked.

It must be fun, they call it a game.

:hi:

7. Took lessons a year ago from the local college --
a real PGA certified instructor. My swing is SO much better. Give it a try. Best $100 I ever spent.

9. Indeed
lessons are the way to go. Also after years and years of trying to kill the ball and having a death grip on the club, I finally learned to loosen up, and take it easy and that has made all the difference in the world.

What honestly helps me is watching the pros on TV to see how effortlessly they swing. It truly is a game of mechanics and not muscle . . . although being as strong as Tiger will help you with those 300+ yard drives. I would suggest turning on the Byron Nelson now for some pointers before the weekend, it's on the Golf Channel in a few minutes, 3:00PM est.

Regarding the Nelson, Phil is off to a good start and maybe changing swing coaches is already paying dividends.

10. I just bought a new used set of irons.
I wanted to experiment with graphite shafts, so I found a set of Titleist DCI Gold irons. I'm trying them out this weekend.
