Arkansas Fires Head Basketball Coach
Anybody got a spare national championship caliber coach hanging around who wants to work for Frank Broyles for a few months before he retires at the end of the year? After five years of relative mediocrity, Stan Heath was fired as the Head Razorback, losing in the first round of this years NCAA tourny.

1. Heath had to go
He came to Arkansas with great acclaim after leading Kent State to the Elite 8 in 2002. But his SEC record has been very poor. Overall, he's 31-49 in SEC conference play and lost in two first round tournament games.

I heard on ESPN Radio that Arkansas may have offered their job to Texas A&M coach Billy Gillispie.

3. Stan Heath made his name w/ Gary Waters' team @ Kent
Gary built that team and moved on but he spent his last time
w/ them discussing how to make it back and win in the NCAAs
.... Heath just inherited a good thing.
