Harold Reynolds sacked at ESPN?
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/baseball/mlb/07/25/bc.bbo.espn.reynolds.ap/index.html?section=si_topstories

BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) -- Harold Reynolds is out at ESPN, reportedly fired from his job as a baseball analyst.

Reynolds, a member of the Baseball Tonight team for 11 years, made his last appearance on the show Sunday night, ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz said Tuesday.

The network refused to comment on a New York Post report that said Reynolds was dismissed, or to provide any details regarding his departure.

"All I can say is he is no longer working here," Krulewitz said.

5. Funny you should say that.
I've heard through the grapevines that he and Kruk didn't see eye-to-eye. Why they'd choose Kruk over HR, as seems to have happened, is baffling to me, but that's ESPN for you.

4. I heard and it sucks
If anyone from BBT is to be fired it should be Steve Philips. That guy knows nothing! He said Reyes should be traded last year and A-Rod this year. Reynolds actually knows what he is talking about.

11. steve phillips
likes to feed his own ego. he was rebuffed years ago by A-rod to come to the mets by saying alex made all sorts of outrageous demands (later proven false)

he has a personal vendetta against Alex and he uses ESPN to air it.

6. Sexual Harassment Lawsuit on the way?
Reynolds Out At ESPN
Sexual Harassment Problems Nothing New In Bristol
10:05 PM EDT,July 25, 2006
NEIL BEST, NEWSDAY

Harold Reynolds, one of ESPN's most visible analysts and a long-time panelist on "Baseball Tonight," has left the network in the wake of one or more incidents of sexual harassment.

An ESPN spokeswoman Tuesday confirmed Reynolds' departure but repeatedly declined to provide a reason for it.

Three people who work at ESPN and were familiar with the case said the cause was a pattern of sexual harassment, apparently culminating in a recent incident involving one of the network's young production assistants.

10. Here's something interesting...
From deadspin(for what it's worth):
Another reader, with "contacts on the inside," refutes the sexual harassment whispers: "Anyone who is saying sexual harassment either has been given bad third-hand info or is lying. Harold has had a couple of rather heated arguments with the producers at "Baseball Tonight," and some of the suits at ESPN over the program's coverage of Alex Rodriguez. At the last production meeting, when it was made clear they were going to really play up the A-Rod angle during coverage of the Yankees-Texas series, Harold had a colossal meltdown, which led to his dismissal. The sexual harassment allegations are even more laughable when you consider that he is being replaced by Steve Phillips -- a man who has never met a skirt he wouldn't chase and who was caught in one of the more embarrassing front office sexual harassment scandals in MLB history.

I'm confused.

12. Wow, that really cheeses me off
Fired because he wouldn't treat Pay-Rod as God - don't forget, they were both Mariners, and Harold, who really epitomizes class, was very beloved by the fans.

WTF? God! It makes me so mad! Pay-Rod runs ESPN now?

15. He defended A-Rod
He actually thought the ESPN suits were being too hard on him.
