New Orleans Saints Ticket Sales
Sales of season tickets for the upcoming Saints season are doing very well. To date, they are four times ahead of the sales figures of a year ago. The Saints first game in New Orleans is tentatively scheduled for 24 September but the NFL might change the date for TV purposes. This is all contingent on hurricanes staying the hell out of town this next storm season. GO SAINTS!! It doesn't matter who wins or loses, just that you can stagger back to the quarter at halftime.

1. Well, it's a surprise.
Especially when you consider how bad they played last season, especially after Deuce McAllister got injured. Maybe it's the fact that Aaron Brooks' reign of incompetence is over or maybe it's the impending arrival of Carson Palmer, but there seems to be RENEWED CONFIDENCE!!!!!!! about this team.

At the very least, we know that this year the Saints won't draft a defensive tackle in the first round this year. :)

2. Carson Palmer?
I haven't heard that one before. And I won't be surprised regardless of who the Saint's draft. I think a new coaching staff, some more cheap tickets thrown in, the strong desire to watch football in town after taking a year off may add to the enthusiasm. I do hope they trade brooks away and get something of value for him.

3. Not Palmer, Matt Leinart.
I got my USC QBs mixed-up again.

4. That's understandable
They all look alike. I think Palmer may be a good fit, however, the Steelers took him out last year and he may never regain his stuff. A big trade for him would be okay but if he is healthy the Bengals won't get rid of him. Lienart can be a Saint for 20 years, never win a playoff game and raise two sons who go on to NFL fame. Sound familiar? Could the Saints possibly fuck up a number two pick?

5. Well, it is the Saints we're talking about here.
Then again, with Haslett gone, maybe decisions can start making some sense around here.

7. Oh, he'll win a playoff game, all right
Lienart can be a Saint for 20 years, never win a playoff game and raise two sons who go on to NFL fame.

Oh, he'll win one. It'll be in about 15 years, and they'll blow a 31-7 halftime lead and only win because the other team fumbles the punt that would have started the inevitable game-tying drive.

As for the sons, who knows? He could have a daughter who goes on to be an All-American placekicker at Colorado... :eyes:

6. At halftime?!
just that you can stagger back to the quarter at halftime

What? You don't stick around to wear your paper bag and boo them off the field? That ruins all the fun!

GO SAINTS!!

This seems to be my week for spelling flames: at least on the La. side of the line, it is spelled GEAUX SAINTS!! Things may be different in Picayune, though...

I'll be sure to save the paper bag I made before the Monday night Atlanta game. It's not that easy to find one that fits over my "basketball head"!
