Jerry Bailey's final ride today.
Jerry Bailey rides for last time this afternoon in the Sunshine Millions challenge.
His final race of the day will be in the 500,000 classic. He rides Silver Tree
for Bill Mott.

I'll be sad to see him go. He is the most intelligent rider in the sport.

1. Bailey is a credit to his profession...
Good luck to him and thank-you for all the great moments he has provided us.

2. Hey Sid!
You cut me out of that picture! I'm the old broad there with the grey hair standing next to Gaviola.
But maybe it is best not to show the picture. I'm not very photogenic. Gaviola was a great filly.
She won six in a row in her three year old year - five of them graded stakes.

Bailey's last ride was in the Turf, not the classic. Don't know what got into me.

6. I didn't cut you out...
That was the way I found the pictures. That would have been cool to find a shot of you and Bailey together.

3. Bailey was second. I was hoping for the story book ending.

4. I think the race was perfect even if Bailey did finish 2nd...
He was completely blocked in at the turn and made a perfect move on the rail past a tiring horse. Classic Bailey.

And just to show how this game can humble even the best: Bailey's horse kicked him in the hip in the paddock. Oh, and he used to ride the winner.

7. Dang!
I was very busy the week before and completely forgot about the Sunshine Millions! x(

Good luck to Bailey in his future endeavours. He was great for the sport...talented and well spoken.

It just won't be the same without him.

8. I finally saw the replay on Wire to Wire
Great move by Bailey bursting to the rail. I had no idea the winner was 48/1 and Bailey had ridden him 20+ times.

Bailey was my favorite rider the past decade or so. It won't be the same this summer at Saratoga without him.
