Bobby Layne led the Detroit Lions to the 1957 NFL title. My Uncle Bob took me to so many games, starting in 1962. He died in 1982, but he never gave up hope. I have, of course; I have followed them since that date. 43 years. I will die like my uncle, with no further hope. It would be the greatest fan event of all time for the Lions to go to the Super Bowl, but it will never happen. Maybe there is comfort in that consistency.

1. Time for a second team in Michigan..
The Silver Dome sits empty. How about the Pontiac Pumas? Or the Michigan Jobless?

3. The game isn't that bad . . .
I just turned it on and the lions are winning 13-3. Can't be all that bad.

5. That score was before Gato ran his 64 yard TD run.
:toast: :bounce: Woohoo, the Packers are now 3 - 10    and now we're out of the running for USC running back Bush.

6. That was so a safety.
How can they say that holding was not in the endzone?
