1. Oh no, he should accept it.
This will piss off *'s still-bitter-over-'Nam base immensely.

2. All the best to Ali
Edited on Sun Nov-06-05 07:18 PM by Awsi Dooger
He should definitely accept it. This isn't the time to be political. I hate to hear things like this because it probably confirms Ali is in declining physical health and they're trying to make sure the proper awards and tributes have been taken care of. Truly the Greatest. Just imagine what we've missed the past 20+ years without his voice. Again, I'm emphasizing joy not issues.

3. The Champ's health
is getting worse. It's questionable if he can accept the award. Perhaps one of his daughters will accept it for him.

Bush is the exact opposite of Ali. He does not deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with Ali.

4. Muhammad Ali gives Bush the crazy sign
Thursday Funnies

Atrios: Bush, who appeared almost playful, fastened the heavy medal around Muhammad Ali's neck and whispered something in the heavyweight champion's ear. Then, as if to say "bring it on," the president put up his dukes in a mock challenge. Ali, 63, who has Parkinson's disease and moves slowly, looked the president in the eye -- and, finger to head, did the "crazy" twirl for a couple of seconds.

5. He showed, as did Aretha and Carol Burnett...very disappointed
in all three. It's a great honor, but but it would have been great for them to take a swipe at Dumbo by refusing.

8. The most disgusting thing, is that Bush couldn't even pronounce his....
...name correctly. What a f**king insult to Ali.
