Do you also say the same about the Patriots being a fluke for winning two of their 3 wins by very lucky, last minute FGs? People constantly defend the Patriots despite the fact they are 3 and 3 and won 2 of their 3 wins by the skin of their teeth. When the Eagles do it, we're called flukes.
We dominated the game start to finish (much to the credit of our defense and of course special teams). McNabb had a number of excellent passes (and some not so good passes), but the only thing I really fault our offense for was that last interception and the FG we would have had if we'd set by 1 second. McNabb is almost starting to hurt us more than help us, but he was the only member of the offense that really had a bad day. There were many times receivers were wide open but McNabb was the one who made poor decisions. TO did great, Westbrook was great, LJ had some good numbers, and so did Lewis. Our special teams kicked ass, as did our defense who completely SHUT down Tomlinson to negative yards throughout 95% of the game. Trotter had an AMAZING game. Other than that, we were up 10-0 at the half so I hardly call our win a fluke. The thing that really killed us was that last interception, and our missed FG we would have had if we were set before time ran out. Had we gotten that like we should have, we'd have won by 6. I believe we were only favored to win by 4, so...
As for the holding and other penalties, well...that's called the rules of the game. When you break the rules you get called on them. That's the way the game goes.
Was it the most beautiful win? Probably not our best. But to say that the Eagles wins are a fluke? Give me a break. It seems like if the Eagles win by anything less than 20 or 30 points, someone is always saying the win was a "fluke" or "lucky." A fluke is one lucky win, not a team like the Eagles that are 4 and 2 and have won their 4 games *relatively* decisively considering. Lots of teams today won because of some pretty exceptional things happening. But when the SB champions are 3 and 3, I'm not going to complain about our playing when it looks like this. And at the end of the day, it isn't about how good the win is: win is a win is a win is a win, period.
